Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M Volume 10 by Masahito Soda and published by Viz Media review

Today is my very first post so I apologize in advance.

The goal of my blog is to share the joy and love I have for unknown comics and underground artists.

Today we are looking at "Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M" volume 10 by Masahito Soda and published in the United States by Viz Media.

The volume I bought was volume 10. Now I am not one who normally likes to dive into the middle of a story but I am extremely happy I did it for this. This was one of the most exciting and indepth mangas that has ever crossed my hands. It looks gorgeous, it reads very maturely and I felt drawn to the cast. I was actually drawn into a comic about fire fighting... It was amazing! Now the best part about this is that the story flowed so well that I originally intended to read about thirty pages and finished the whole book in one sitting!

I will not ruin the story but the theme is action based with a high ting of realism. Do not expect magical girls but since the main character is a man you will have cases of stubborness, bravado, and awkward romance. It is rated T for teen but it is because of the theme and not because of anything crude. Fun book for most ages and any sex.

Now the art work is very detailed in this volume and I have faith that it is just as beautiful in other volumes. The page layouts very shonen style but the artist uses Western splash pages and lays out the pages nicely and it gives a good impression. The pages have a decent amount of sound effects but they are used nicely and with good emphasis.

I finished this book and felt compelled to read more. Sadly this is a manga no longer on the local book shelves but Viz being the champs they are, finished the entire series! A full manga set for everyone! The books are pretty cheap on ebay but do not feel afraid to check local stores for cheaper options. I highly recommend this book.

Score time:

Art: 7 / 10
Story: 6 / 10
Flow of book: 8 / 10
Impression after reading: want more
