the Gods lie. by Kaori Ozaki and published by Vertical comics

The goal of my blog is to share the joy and love I have for unknown comics and underground artists. Today we are looking at "the Gods lie." by Kaori Ozaki and published in the United States by Vertical Comics. The volume I bought is the only volume in the whole series. This is a book about poverty and about growing up and experiencing life as an adult. It is a very touching book and deserves praise but keep in mind that it will strike a cord in you unless you are a heartless rich person who shuns commoners. The book dives into topics that most people would consider taboo like bad parenting, death and true poverty. It is a great read and it is a very thought out book and you will feel that the artist is trying to help change you as a human. It is not action based and focuses on realism and is set through the point of view of a child in middle school. the Gods lie. is written and drawn by Kaori Ozaki and it is done in a more 2010 type style. It is a book that...

Lycanthrope Leo story by Kengo Kaji and art by Kenji Okamura and published by Viz Media

The goal of my blog is to share the joy and love I have for unknown comics and underground artists. Today we are looking at "Lycanthrope Leo" volume 1 written by Kengo Kaji and art by Kenji Okamura and published in the United States by Viz Media. The volume I bought was volume 1. This book was beautiful. It gives off a Battle Royale art style but it is not illustrated by  Masayuki Taguchi-San. The theme is very Shonen and very action based. The series is considered more for adults and does not shy away from extreme violence, death or nudity. It is a great read but it is cautioned to read this in public. The plot is very detailed and fleshes out the characters a lot and you feel attached to most of them.  I will not ruin the story but the theme is action based and focuses on creatures and monsters. It justifies its plot and does some great art work when it comes to theme. The backgrounds and characters are both highly detailed. It is a great read but ge...

Grave of the Fireflies movie review produced by Studio Ghibli and published by Disney or Gkids

The goal of my blog is to share the joy and love I have for unknown comics, unknown animation and underground artists. Today we are looking at an animated movie called "Grave of the Fireflies" created by Studio Ghibli and published in the United States by Disney or Gkids. The dvd that we are looking at is a relatively famous movie but it is one the lessor known Studio Ghibli films because of its content and adult theme. It was directed by Isao Takahata. Takahata-san is the other side of Studio Ghibli that most people do not talk about. Everyone knowns Miyazaki-san but Takahata-san is the one who made movies like Pom Poko, Only Yesterday, and My Neighbors the Yamadas. This movie is about two kids growing up during the final days of World War II. It is through the point of view of  Seita and focuses on him and his young sister  Setsuko. The focus of the movie is that the American bombers dropped incendiary bombs on their town and it makes them homeless and...
